Eventually in May 1956 we bought our first home in Grove Crescent, Kingsbury and it was November 18th 1957 when Margaret Anne arrived on the scene. She was born in Kingsbury Maternity hospital where I had been nursing part time.

Eventually David's mother came to live with us. Our Doctor, Dr Ashken, offered me a job as receptionist which fitted in with school life. I had been studying Chiropody and after qualifying in 1962 I rented a room in Badyan's chemist shop where I started my career as a Chiropodist.

Sadly my mother died in 1967 two days before Margaret's tenth birthday. She had suffered a coronary aneurism two years previously but her death was very sudden, collapsing at the bus stop on her way to work and died instantly. It was many years later in 1998 that I was diagnosed with heart problems and underwent major heart surgery. It was then found to be a hereditary condition and all the family were checked. Unfortunately David Jnr. also has to have annual check ups.

In 1971 I was able to rent a shop in Mollison Way Edgware.

With the family growing up we decided to move to a five bedroom house in the Kenton Road, where we spent 20 happy years.

David's Mum had been living with us for twenty years but eventually it became more difficult and she went into care where she was very well cared for. She died in 1984 aged 87 years. My father died in September 1989 which was John and Enid's Silver wedding day.

We have many happy memories of our 20 years in Kenton Road. Kevin and Carole held their wedding reception here, we celebrated our Ruby wedding and Millie and Bobbie had their Golden wedding and retirement parties all at 266 Kenton Road. David and Sandra also had Emma, Sue and Lucy's christening parties there. There was always an excuse for a party.

We had "Twinkle" our cat who had grown up with the children but had sadly died aged 17yrs and "Peaky" Kevin's rabbit who moved with us at the age of about 9 years to Kenton and carried on for several more years enjoying life having met a very attractive female rabbit and producing several litters. It was at this time we decided to have a Labrador, Sheba, who as a puppy would sleep in the hutch with Peaky and as she got too big for the hutch Peaky decided to sleep with Sheba. Sheba always came to work with me until eventually we converted our garage into a surgery which was very successful. Sheba was about 9 years when we had the chance of Ebony, a black Lab and certainly the most mischievous of all of them. We had thought of mating her but she evidently didn't approve so when Sheba at the age of 14yrs died we had Cherry to keep Ebby company.

Eventually we found our home was too large with just the two of us and when I retired from full time practice in 1993 we down sized to a small bungalow in North Harrow and I carried on with domiciliary chiropody on a part time basis until July 2009.

During this time we sadly lost Ebony and shortly afterwards Cherry. It was about three months later we were told about a Labrador in a sanctuary in Essex and so Buster joined the family a lovely natured dog giving us many happy years.

When David retired in 1994 we had a wonderful holiday in America visiting David's half sister Olive and niece Pam.

In 2002 we celebrated our Golden wedding at the Aldenham golf club organised by Margaret and Lawrence with over a hundred people attending.
